Don Malbec Mendoza
The Don Malbec Mendoza from Bodegas Escorihuela Gascón is an outstanding Argentinian red wine that captures the essence of Malbec from the renowned Uco Valley in Mendoza. As the winery's flagship wine, it is made exclusively from carefully selected grapes from the single-vineyard vineyard “El Cepillo”.
Deep ruby red color with violet reflections. Intense aromas of black plums, ripe strawberries, blueberries and blackberries, complemented by notes of vanilla, cedar wood and cocoa from the ageing in oak barrels. Full-bodied with clearly defined aromas of red and black fruits such as plums and wild berries. The wine has a balanced tannin structure, refreshing acidity and a long, velvety finish with hints of red fruit jam and fine oak notes. This Malbec is an excellent accompaniment to hearty meat dishes such as grilled beef, game or mature cheese.
In 1880, Don Miguel Escorihuela Gascón came to Argentina from his native Aragón in Spain at the age of 19. Four years later, he had already managed to buy 42 hectares of land, plant vines and build a winery. Don Miguel and his descendants became famous in Argentina for their excellent wines and their exceptional works. From the beginning, the goal of the Bodegas has been to produce wines of the highest quality. A great deal of attention has been paid to the selection and care of the vines, artisanal production methods and the constant improvement of technology. This is how the winery developed into a nationally and internationally recognized company. Escorihuela Gascón is today the oldest winery still active in Mendoza and is considered one of the most influential in all of Argentina.
