Sameto Chardonnay Salento IGP
Sameto Chardonnay
Salento IGP
presented here in an elegant Magnum bottle 150 cl and delivered in its original wooden box, is a masterpiece of southern Italian winemaking. It perfectly combines Mediterranean charm, international finesse, and exceptional craftsmanship.
The grapes are grown in the sun-kissed vineyards of Masseria Samia, located near the Ionian coast of Salento. The warm breezes and limestone soils give this Chardonnay remarkable freshness and complexity. Hand-harvested and gently pressed, the wine is fermented under temperature control and aged for twelve months in French oak barrels, followed by a period of bottle maturation.
In the glass, it shines a bright straw yellow with golden highlights. The bouquet reveals aromas of white flowers, ripe peaches, tropical fruit, vanilla, and roasted almonds. On the palate, it is rich and silky, with a creamy texture and a fine balance of fruit and oak. The long, elegant finish reflects both finesse and power.
The Magnum format enhances the wine’s aging potential, allowing even greater depth and harmony to develop over time. A Chardonnay of distinction – perfect for festive occasions or as a refined gift.
Masseria Samia
Monacizzo-Librari-Truglione
The Masseria Samia in Salento on the Ionian coast is a typical 16th century estate that has been restored with great attention to detail. The masseria lovingly describes its estate as Giardino Mediterrano - the vineyards cover around 120 hectares on very flat terrain around the estate and along the shore. In the distance, you can see "trulli" - stone huts with striking conical roofs - typical of the region. A setting for sustainability and Mediterranean beauty has been created here. The vines are tended and cared for with the utmost care. The Sameto wines will be presented to the world for the first time in 2024. The estate is taking an unusual path for Puglia. It focuses on top international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The wines are matured to perfection in the best oak barriques. The results are unique and will certainly soon be celebrated in the wine Olympics.
