Sameto Chardonnay Salento IGP
Sameto Chardonnay
Salento IGP
from Masseria Samia is a striking white wine that combines Mediterranean charm with refined international style. The grapes come from sun-drenched vineyards along the Ionian coast of Salento, where limestone soils and sea breezes shape a distinctive terroir.
Harvested by hand and carefully selected, the grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation before maturing for twelve months in French oak barrels. This aging imparts depth, texture, and delicate aromatic complexity.
In the glass, the wine displays a bright straw yellow colour with golden reflections. The bouquet reveals notes of white flowers, peach, mango, and a touch of vanilla, enhanced by subtle hints of tropical fruit. On the palate, it is rich and harmonious, with a silky structure and balanced acidity that give the wine both freshness and elegance. The discreet oak adds depth without overpowering the fruit, leading to a long, smooth finish.
A Chardonnay of remarkable finesse and character, representing the sunny essence of Apulia. It pairs beautifully with seafood, shellfish, poultry in creamy sauces, and refined pasta dishes. A wine that captures both sophistication and Mediterranean warmth.
Masseria Samia
Monacizzo-Librari-Truglione
The Masseria Samia in Salento on the Ionian coast is a typical 16th century estate that has been restored with great attention to detail. The masseria lovingly describes its estate as Giardino Mediterrano - the vineyards cover around 120 hectares on very flat terrain around the estate and along the shore. In the distance, you can see "trulli" - stone huts with striking conical roofs - typical of the region. A setting for sustainability and Mediterranean beauty has been created here. The vines are tended and cared for with the utmost care. The Sameto wines will be presented to the world for the first time in 2024. The estate is taking an unusual path for Puglia. It focuses on top international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay. The wines are matured to perfection in the best oak barriques. The results are unique and will certainly soon be celebrated in the wine Olympics.
