Villa Carena stands for approachable, balanced wines from Piedmont. The wine line is created in collaboration with various producers from Canale and Serralunga d’Alba and combines Piedmontese origin with a clear, modern style. The focus is on wines that express fruit, structure and regional character in an understandable and harmonious way. The Villa Carena concept is based on a Swiss-Italian collaboration. The wines are vinified in Piedmont and show a deliberately approachable interpretation of the region: not heavy or rustic, but balanced, fruit-driven and with a calm structure.
Piedmont: origin with Barbera, Nebbiolo and Arneis
Piedmont is one of Italy’s important wine regions and is closely associated with grape varieties such as Nebbiolo, Barbera and Arneis. The hilly landscape of the Langhe, calcareous soils and continental climate create good conditions for wines with fruit, structure and regional character. Villa Carena works with these classic Piedmontese varieties, but interprets them in a modern, approachable style. The focus is on balance, clear fruit and a harmonious structure – both in the white wines and in the red wines.
Langhe Arneis: freshness and yellow fruit
The Villa Carena Langhe Arneis DOC shows the bright, fresh side of Piedmont. Vinified from 100% Arneis and aged in stainless steel tanks, it preserves the clear fruit and lively structure of this traditional white grape variety. Pear, apple, quince and a hint of lemon shape the aromatic profile, accompanied by a full-bodied, refreshing palate and a long fruity aftertaste. This white wine pairs particularly well with light summer cuisine, starters, vegetarian dishes and fish dishes. As an aperitif, it also shows the approachable and elegant side of Piedmontese white wine.
Piemonte DOC: Barbera and Nebbiolo in a harmonious cuvée
The Villa Carena Piemonte DOC combines Barbera and Nebbiolo in a balanced red wine cuvée. Barbera contributes fruit, juiciness and soft approachability, while Nebbiolo adds structure, tannin and regional depth. Partial barrel ageing supports the balance and gives the wine subtle notes of cedarwood and vanilla. On the nose, cherries, black fruits, cedarwood and vanilla appear. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and soft, with well-integrated tannins and a pleasant finish. This makes it suitable with antipasti, braised dishes, grilled dishes, red meat, game and hearty dishes.
Magnum bottle for shared moments of enjoyment
Villa Carena Piemonte DOC is available not only in the 75 cl bottle, but also as a 150 cl magnum bottle. The larger format is particularly suitable for shared meals, convivial gatherings and longer moments of enjoyment. In the magnum bottle, the wine can develop more slowly and evenly, allowing fruit, structure, cedarwood, vanilla and the softly integrated tannins to come together harmoniously.
