Innovation, quality and versatility are the principles of Real Sitio de Ventosilla. In addition to various other agricultural activities, the finca also specializes in viticulture. For a long time, the grapes were sold to Pesquera and Protos, before the boom of the Ribera del Duero made the landowner rethink. In 1996, the first Prado Rey was vinified. The best vineyards, previously planted with cereals, were newly planted with young vines. Today, 520 hectares of the estate are planted with vines. The eight vineyards, some of which are located directly on the Douro River, benefit from different terroirs. Oenologist Francisco Martin San Juan enjoys a free hand in the modern bodega. Highly awarded wines are the results of his pioneering spirit, tenacity and passion for wine.
