Johannisberg Valais AOC
Johannisberg
Valais AOC
from Vins et Vignobles Julius by the Pierre-Alain Mathier family is a brilliant example of precision winemaking from the Valais. Made from 100% Johannisberg (Sylvaner), this wine captures the essence of its alpine origin with purity, freshness, and elegance.
The grapes are grown on sunny slopes in the Valais, where the combination of rocky soils and cool nights brings structure and aromatic intensity. Vinified exclusively in stainless steel tanks, the wine expresses the grape’s natural fruit character and mineral clarity.
In the glass, it shows a soft golden hue. The bouquet reveals notes of quince, mango, and roasted almonds. On the palate, it is silky and full-bodied, offering flavours of mirabelle plums, linden blossom, and dried fruits, supported by a lively mineral backbone that gives it precision and length.
This Johannisberg is both refreshing and refined – ideal as an aperitif or paired with shellfish, freshwater fish, poultry, or asparagus.
An authentic expression of the Julius philosophy: crafting small quantities of exceptional wines through passion, respect for tradition, and innovative spirit.
