Château Coucy Montagne Saint-Émilion AOC 150 cl

Château Coucy Montagne Saint-Émilion AOC is a classic Bordeaux red wine with finesse and charm. In the magnum bottle (150 cl), the wine develops particularly slowly and harmoniously, gaining additional depth and elegance. The blend consists of 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and is aged in French barriques. The wine carries the “Haute Valeur Environnementale” certification, which stands for sustainable and environmentally friendly wine production. In the glass, it presents an elegant garnet red with ruby reflections. On the nose, red fruit aromas are complemented by fine notes of vanilla and liquorice, typical of Merlot. On the palate, it is balanced, with soft, well-integrated tannins. An interplay of aromas of roses, cherries and delicate spices rounds off the experience.

Producer: Château Coucy

Château Coucy is one of the oldest estates in the Montagne Saint-Émilion appellation. From generation to generation, the estate’s methods have been continuously refined. The 20 hectares of vineyards benefit from their southern exposure and clay-limestone soils. Exceptionally old vines, consistent canopy management and the often underestimated winter work during the vegetative rest period are further factors contributing to the quality of this wine. The harvest is carried out strictly by hand and transported in small containers of no more than 20 kilos to the winery for processing. The grapes are then carefully vinified into a unique blend of the region’s typical grape varieties. Château Coucy – a high-quality Bordeaux with character.

FAQ on Château Coucy Montagne Saint-Émilion AOC 150 cl

What is the advantage of a magnum bottle?
In a magnum bottle, the wine matures more slowly and evenly. As a result, it develops greater complexity, elegance and a particularly harmonious structure.

How can the style of this Bordeaux be described?
The wine shows a classic Merlot-driven style, with supple tannins, ripe fruit and fine barrique notes. The structure is balanced and combines fruit, spice and elegance.

What role do Merlot and Cabernet Franc play in this cuvée?
Merlot provides fullness, fruit and supple tannins, while Cabernet Franc contributes structure, freshness and fine spice. Together, they create a balanced and harmonious Bordeaux.

How does barrique ageing influence the wine?
Ageing in French barriques gives the wine additional structure and fine aromatic nuances such as vanilla and spice, without overshadowing the fruit.

What is the ideal serving temperature?
Serve at 16-18°C so that the structure, fruit and tannins can unfold in balance.

When does Château Coucy Montagne Saint-Émilion AOC 2022 reach its best drinking maturity?
The 2022 vintage is already showing itself to be very present, with clear fruit and a structured tannic backbone. In magnum, the wine continues to evolve particularly slowly and gains in depth and expression with increasing maturity.

Why does this wine pair particularly well with robust meat dishes?
The combination of structure, tannin and fruit pairs especially well with protein-rich dishes such as beef or game, as it supports the texture and complements the flavours.

What does the “Haute Valeur Environnementale” certification mean?
The “Haute Valeur Environnementale” (HVE) certification is the highest level of the French government’s environmental certification for agricultural estates. It confirms that a winery operates with a particularly strong environmental commitment, with a focus on biodiversity, reduced use of plant protection products, balanced fertilisation and responsible management of water resources.
