Vini Briganti – Italian wines fuori dal comune

Vini Briganti is an independent wine line by Cave Amann, created in collaboration with long-standing Italian partners, oenologists and wine experts. Inspired by the historical Briganti – figures associated with autonomy and independence – the line follows a deliberately unconventional approach. Under the guiding idea of fuori dal comune, wines are created that are not primarily defined by classic appellation boundaries, but by style, origin concept and grape variety character. The focus is on Italian wines with a clear profile: fresh Prosecco interpretations from Veneto, characterful red wine cuvées from various regions of Italy and editions in which indigenous grape varieties, regional expertise and modern vinification are brought together. Vini Briganti is aimed at wine lovers looking for Italian wine with an independent signature – approachable, aromatic and deliberately conceived beyond familiar categories.

Concept & Philosophy

The term fuori dal comune can be understood as “outside the ordinary”. At Vini Briganti, it stands for the freedom to combine different Italian regions, grape varieties and styles. Instead of being guided exclusively by traditional appellation rules, the result is cuvées focused on balance, expression and drinking pleasure. This philosophy is particularly evident in the red wines of the line. Grape varieties and origin sometimes deliberately remain in the background, while the style of each wine takes centre stage: dark fruit, spice, structure, oak ageing and aromatic depth. With the Prosecco wines, by contrast, the clear freshness of the Glera grape is at the centre – light, finely sparkling and versatile.

Prosecco from Veneto

The Vini Briganti range includes two Prosecco wines from Veneto that show the fresh and uncomplicated side of the line. Both are vinified from 100% Glera and produced using the Charmat method, preserving fruit, floral notes and lively perlage.

The Giò Prosecco DOC Vino Frizzante is lightly sparkling, fresh and approachable. Citrus fruits, exotic notes and white flowers shape its aromatic expression. As a Vino Frizzante, it appears softer and lighter than a more strongly sparkling Spumante and is particularly well suited as an aperitif, with sushi or with light starters.

The Ciccilla Prosecco Extra Dry Treviso DOC comes from the traditional Prosecco region of Treviso. It shows notes of apple, white flowers, acacia honey and a fine perlage. On the palate, it is soft, silky and fresh – a classic companion for apéritifs, crustaceans, mussels, fish and festive moments.

Red wines with an independent profile

The red wines from Vini Briganti show the more powerful side of the line. They are conceived as characterful cuvées and combine dark fruit, spice, oak ageing and structure. The exact grape variety composition remains part of the concept for individual wines and underlines the idea of the Briganti: not every origin is fully disclosed; what matters is the style in the glass.

Il Brigantino Vino Rosso is a fruit-driven red wine with dark aromatics, black cherries, plums, mocha, chocolate, tobacco and a fine note of vanilla. Six months of ageing in oak barrels give it additional structure and spice. It pairs well with antipasti, brasato, grilled meat and hard cheese.

Il Passatore Vino Rosso is a northern Italian-style cuvée with dark fruit, vanilla, chocolate and a hint of tobacco. Partial ageing in stainless steel tanks preserves freshness and fruit, while barriques and wooden barrels contribute depth and texture. The wine is suitable with grilled dishes, pasta, pizza and more robust everyday dishes.

Crocco Re dei Re Vino Rosso shows the southern Italian-inspired, more powerful style of the line. Ripe cherries, plums, blackberries, tobacco nuances and a soft, full-bodied structure define this wine. The long maceration period and twelve months of ageing in oak barrels give it depth, spice and a harmonious tannin structure. It is also available in a 150 cl magnum bottle.

This selection shows the character of Vini Briganti: Italian wines with an independent idea, clear aromatics and a deliberately free interpretation. The Prosecco wines stand for freshness and lightness, while the red wines stand for fruit, spice, structure and an unconventional stylistic signature.
