Sauvignon Blanc
Sauvignon Blanc
of Origin Stellenbosch by Eikendal Vineyards is sourced from the Elgin region and made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc. Vinified in stainless steel tanks, it preserves freshness and aromatics. In the glass, it displays a pale yellow color with green reflections. The bouquet is intense, with elderflower aromas complemented by ripe grapefruit, melon, and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, it is smooth and fresh with noble minerality. Notes of sweet blossoms, peach, ripe figs, asparagus, and lemon balm add complexity. A wonderfully fresh wine with a typical grassy finish, perfect with aperitifs, salads, seafood, asparagus, and starters.
Eikendal Vineyards, Stellenbosch
Since 1981, the winery Eikendal Vineyards, located a few kilometers outside Stellenbosch, is owned by the Swiss family Saager. The climatic conditions with the nearby Atlantic Ocean and the terroir are first class. Sufficient organic matter and minerals in the soils at the foot of the Helderberg allow the vines to thrive and produce full-bodied, powerful but also multi-faceted and supple wines. The wines are vinified with great care for the grapes and separate vinification of the individual plots. Between 250,000 and 300,000 bottles of wine leave the 76-hectare winery every year.
