Saint-Théodoric Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOP 75 cl
Saint-Théodoric Châteauneuf-du-Pape AOP from Gabriel Meffre is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre from the southern Rhône Valley. The grapes are harvested by hand and the grape varieties are vinified separately. Following around four weeks of fermentation and maceration, the wine is aged for approximately 12 months, partly in oak and partly in tanks. Strawberries, blueberries, pomegranate and spices define the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine shows a fine tannin structure with notes of white pepper, bay leaf and juniper, followed by a long, fresh finish.
Producer: Gabriel Meffre, Gigondas
Maison Gabriel Meffre was founded in 1936 by Gabriel Meffre and his wife Juliette in Gigondas. The house is closely connected to the different wine-growing areas of the Rhône Valley and operates both as a producer and as a Négociant-Éleveur. For Saint-Théodoric, different terroirs of Châteauneuf-du-Pape are brought together. Sandy soils on the eastern and southern slopes, limestone in the west, red clay in the north and the characteristic rounded quartzite stones known as galets roulés on the higher plateaus define the appellation’s different vineyard sites.
