The Varvàra Bolgheri DOC in magnum bottle from Castello di Bolgheri represents an elegant yet expressive interpretation of the Tuscan coastal region. The blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot combines structure, depth and balance, precisely expressing the character of the gravelly soils around Castagneto Carducci. In the 1.5-litre bottle, this Bolgheri red wine develops calmly and evenly, giving it additional harmony and depth.
Producer: Castello di Bolgheri
Castello di Bolgheri is one of the historically influential wine estates of the region and is closely linked to the development of the appellation. The vineyards extend over around 60 hectares and lie in the immediate vicinity of the Castello in Castagneto Carducci. Under the direction of Federico Zileri and in collaboration with oenologist Alessandro Dondi, structured, long-lived wines with a clear sense of origin are produced here. The vineyards border renowned estates such as Tenuta dell’Ornellaia, San Guido (Sassicaia) and Guado al Tasso. The wines are bottled only in suitable vintages – a consistent quality standard reflected in their style.
