Vualá Nero d'Avola Bio Sicilia DOC
Vualà Nero d’Avola Organic Sicilia DOC
from Caruso e Minini offers a modern and authentic interpretation of Sicily’s flagship red variety, crafted entirely from organic vineyards. The estate’s organically managed plots benefit from limestone soils, warm Mediterranean breezes and ideal sunlight exposure, all contributing to healthy vines and pure varietal expression.
In the glass, the wine reveals a deep cherry-red colour. On the nose, it shows a harmonious and inviting aromatic profile dominated by dark cherry fragrances, gently complemented by subtle vanilla notes. These aromas remain refined and balanced, highlighting the clean, precise style that characterises the Vualà line.
On the palate, the wine is broad, full-bodied and well-rounded. The tannins are soft and pleasant, offering structure without imposing heaviness. The fruit-driven character continues with clarity, supported by delicate spice and a long, smooth finish. Despite its richness, the wine retains freshness, making it versatile and highly enjoyable.
The Vualà Nero d’Avola embodies Caruso e Minini’s commitment to sustainable viticulture and thoughtful craftsmanship. The winery has long embraced environmentally friendly methods to enhance the natural qualities of Sicily’s indigenous grape varieties. This organic Nero d’Avola showcases not only the potential of the region but also the precision and care behind the winemaking.
Food pairing: Italian dishes, roasted meats, aged cheeses, mushroom-based dishes and more.
Caruso e Minini
A success story of two families that has lasted for generations. The wine-growing expertise of Sicilian Stefano Caruso paired with the commercial knowledge of Mario Minini from northern Italy were responsible for the initial spark. Tradition, expertise and a vision for the future came together. Today, Stefano's daughters Giovanna and Rosanna are involved. The winery comprises around 120 hectares of vineyards in the Guyot system. The vines climb calcareous hills east of Marsala up to 450 meters above sea level and are then processed in a building that is over a hundred years old. Thanks to the altitude and the distance from the sea, the grapes ripen particularly well. The result is varietal, characterful and modern wines from Sicilian classics such as Zibibbo and Nero d'Avola, but also from international grapes.
