Coteis Grande Escolha Vinho Regional Alentejano 75 cl

Coteis Grande Escolha Vinho Regional Alentejano from Herdade dos Coteis is a Portuguese red wine from the Alentejo, vinified from Syrah and Touriga Nacional. The cuvée combines the richness and spice of Syrah with the dark fruit and structure of the Portuguese grape variety Touriga Nacional. The grapes come from Herdade dos Coteis’ own vineyards near Moura, on the left bank of the Guadiana. Following temperature-controlled fermentation, the wine matures for 12 months in French and American oak barriques. In the glass, it shows a deep garnet-red colour. On the nose, powerful fruit aromas of blackberry and cherry unfold, complemented by vanilla. On the palate, it is full-bodied, richly textured and intensely fruity, with soft tannins, notes of cocoa and spice, and an intense, long finish.

Producer: Herdade dos Coteis

Herdade dos Coteis is located in southern Portugal in the Alentejo, near Moura on the left bank of the River Guadiana. The estate, run by the Venâncio family, comprises more than 300 hectares of olive groves and 23 hectares of vineyards. The Alentejo landscape is characterised by broad plains, gentle hills, vineyards, olive trees and cork oak groves. Indigenous grape varieties such as Touriga Nacional, Alicante Bouschet and Arinto grow in the vineyards alongside international varieties such as Syrah and Sauvignon Blanc. Only estate-grown grapes are used for the production of the wines. The wines of Herdade dos Coteis show a clear Alentejo style with ripe fruit, richness, spice and a distinct regional character.
