Chablis 1er Cru AOC Vaillons
Chablis 1er Cru AOC Vaillons
by J. Moreau & Fils is a Premier Cru white wine from Chablis that shows exceptional character and finesse. Its medium golden-yellow hue reflects its maturity. The bouquet reveals rich notes of roasted hazelnuts, vanilla, mocha, and delicate acacia blossom. On the palate, it is fruity and elegant, with flavors of pear, apricot, and a touch of honey, finishing with remarkable length and harmony. Partial ageing in oak barrels and on fine lees adds complexity and depth. Best enjoyed with smoked salmon, trout, white meats, or creamy cheeses.
J. Moreau & Fils, Chablis
Between Dijon and Paris, on the banks of the Serein, a tributary of the Seine, lies the charming wine region of Chablis, which belongs to Burgundy. The Chardonnay grape thrives on the highly calcareous soils. The success story of J. Moreau & Fils began back in 1814. Today, the winery is one of the oldest in the region. At that time, the young cooper J. Moreau settled in Chablis, where he married the daughter of a local winegrower. Over the years, the pioneer in the Chablis region has become one of the most important Chablis producers. His expertise is as highly regarded as the style of his wines, which are uncompromisingly terroir-driven. What Jean-Joseph Moreau began more than 200 years ago with passion and love for viticulture is now in the hands of oenologist Lucie Depuydt. Born in Chablis, she has a knack for getting the best out of every grape. J. Moreau & Fils has been part of the Boisset family since 1985.
