Italy's versatile wine region
The Veneto is one of Italy's most productive wine regions. Around Verona, in the Valpolicella area, the famous reds of corvina, rondinella and molinara are made – from everyday wine to icon. Soave and Prosecco come from here too.
Valpolicella, Ripasso, Amarone
The three tiers tell a story: Valpolicella is fresh and cherry-fruited. For Ripasso, the young wine is passed over the Amarone pomace and gains body. Amarone, finally, is made from partly dried grapes (appassimento) – concentrated, velvety and powerful.

Serve Valpolicella at 16 °C, Ripasso and Amarone a touch warmer at 17 to 18 °C. Amarone benefits from an hour in a decanter to unfold its full amplitude.
