Wein zu Tapas
Small plates, great variety: tapas thrive on convivial sharing – and the right wine holds the colourful spread together.
Variety on the table
Tapas range from olives and manchego to tortilla and pimientos, all the way to chorizo and gambas. As varied as the little dishes are, the wine must be flexible: fresh, fruity and with lively acidity that suits many things.
Rioja, Cava and rosé
A fruity Rioja Crianza accompanies chorizo, ham and grilled meats. Cava, the Spanish sparkling wine, is the ideal all-rounder for fried and salty tapas. A dry rosé suits vegetables, fish and mild bites – together they cover the whole table.
Our tapas recommendations
- Raiza Crianza Rioja – fruity Rioja – with chorizo and ham.
- Demuerte Cava Brut – Spanish bubbles – with all things fried and salty.
- Tramari Rosé di Primitivo – a dry rosé – with vegetables and fish.
Tapas at the table
Put two or three wines on the table and let each guest mix and match. Cava to open, Rioja with the hearty bites, rosé with the light tapas – sharing becomes a pleasure. Salty dishes call for freshness and bubbles.
Serving it right
Serve Cava and rosé well chilled, at 7 to 9 °C, the Rioja at 16 °C. The table stays lively and every wine shows at its best.
