Merlot Garda DOC from Azienda Vitivinicola Zenato is a varietal Merlot from Veneto. Following temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barriques. In the glass, it shows an intense ruby-red colour with a powerful bouquet of ripe blackberries and redcurrants. On the palate, an elegant, powerful structure combines with a long, harmonious finish.

Azienda Vitivinicola Zenato was founded in 1960 by Sergio Zenato in San Benedetto di Lugana on the southern shore of Lake Garda. As early as the 1960s, he recognised the potential of the then little-known Lugana region and became involved early on in its development and recognition. Alongside its historic roots on Lake Garda, Valpolicella Classica, with the Costalunga estate in Sant'Ambrogio di Valpolicella, is now a second important focus of the family winery. Zenato thus brings together two distinct wine regions of Veneto – the white wine tradition centred on Trebbiano di Lugana and the classic red wines of Valpolicella. Today, Alberto and Nadia Zenato continue the family’s work.
